One of my favorite eyeshadow palettes, Tarte Rainforest of the Sea, screams natural and minimalistic. If you want an eyeshadow palette perfect for everyday use that will take you from day to night, this is for you!
Why I love it
I recently pulled this Tarte palette out and pretty much fell back in love with her. I went through a phase where I used this palette all the time. But with all my eyeshadow purchases, it got pushed to the side. I decided to give this palette some more love and now I love it even more than I did before!
A Unique Palette
At first glance, this looks like every other neutral palette on the market. But it’s actually really unique. The formula of these shadows is not your typical powder shadow. They have a more creamy consistency that works beautifully on the eyes. Since these shadows are so creamy, it makes them incredibly easy to blend. Blend-ability is so important if you want an eye look that takes little time and effort! Plus the shades all go together perfectly so you can create endless eye looks.
Why it’s perfect for the minimalist
This is the ideal palette for someone who wants everyday shadows that can be used for daytime and nighttime looks. When I started using this palette again I noticed that it would be perfect for someone who was into “minimalistic” makeup. Or for someone who wanted to have one eyeshadow palette that could be used for natural daytime looks but also dramatic smokey looks! These shadows also look somewhat natural on the eyes. Most of the shades are shimmery, but in the most natural looking way possible. I think it goes with the whole summer/beachy theme thats going on with the whole Rainforest of the Sea collection. This would be the eyeshadow palette that you would bring on a beach vacation when you want simple and effortless looks.
Worth the money
This palette retails for $36 and you get 8 shades in here. All of the shades are consistent when it comes to pigmentation and quality. Each one is extremely pigmented and creamy. They blend into each other to perfection so your eyeshadow ends up looking almost airbrushed! You get a mix of tones in here too! Some of the shades lean very warm while others lean very cool. I love that you have a highlight shade, a transition shade, shades for the lid and deeper shades so you can create any look you want with just one palette.
As I said earlier, the formula of these shadows isn’t your typical eyeshadow so it takes a little getting used to. I had to figure out the best ways to use and blend these shadows before I really fell in love with the product. You can use any brush you want with these but my favorite way is to use a natural hair brush to blend them out. For my lid shade I usually apply that with my finger because I find that gives the most coverage.
Since you have every shade you would need in here along with natural looking tones, I think this would be perfect for the minimalist. Or anyone for that matter. I love dramatic eyeshadow looks and this palette is still a dream come true for me. Especially if you are looking to get a stunning eye look fast!
I have been loving this palette so much I am thinking about picking up Volume II that was recently released.
