I’ll be honest, Colourpop could release just about anything and I’d purchase it. So when I saw that they were releasing these Supernova eyeshadows of course I snagged all 5 shades!
These are unlike anything Colourpop has done before. I’ve loved the super shock shadows for quite some time and this year I’ve been loving their pressed powder shadows. These Supernova shadows are intense liquid metallic foiled eyeshadows. They also have some glitter in them which really pops on the eyes!
Overall, I think these are beautiful. And $7 for a product like this is a freaking steal. I apply them with the applicator or my finger so they’re really simple and easy to use. When I first started using them I was surprised with how incredibly metallic and reflective they are. They bring so much light and shine to your eyes! I’m obsessed with how much they make your eyes pop! But I have noticed a few things to be mindful of if you decide to try these out…
Walk Of Fame, Dragon, Firecracker, Hard To Empress, Moon Lit
As you can see in the picture below, they can look a bit clumpy. In order to get a full on opaque application you have to layer the product and with that I have noticed just a liiiiitle creasing. Right in the crease of my eye sometimes the product will sort of break up. It doesn’t really bother me because it doesn’t happen every time and they still look stunning.
The other thing to keep in mind is NOT TO BLEND THEM WITH A BRUSH. They will 100% flake off your eye. It’s messy. I had applied a thin layer and went to blend it out and it completely flaked off. But again, if you don’t blend them with a brush after they’ve dried it won’t be a problem. Just blend with your finger when the product is still wet and you’ll be fine!
Would I recommend these? Yes. Other than what I just pointed out, these are beautiful. You just have to work with them a little bit and know how to use them!
