Hello, frosty lippies!! Lately I’ve been noticing that the “all matte everything” trend is beginning to kind of fade away. Especially when it comes to lip products! Which I’m totally fine with because there’s nothing I love more than a frosty or glossy lip.
With that being said, MAC has released 4 shimmer lipstick shades in their holiday line. There are two matte shades in the collection, but I decided to stick with the more metallic shades. I knew I would enjoy these, but WOW, I’m obsessed. Like thinking about buying backups obsessed.
Left to right: I’m Glistening, Shimmer and Spice, Warm Ice, Holiday Crush ($17.50 each)
The first shade, I’m Glistening is a cool toned purple. On the lips, it doesn’t look too purple. More like a frosty deep grey. This one surprised me with how flattering it was! The next shade, Shimmer and Spice, is the prettiest red I’ve ever owned. Red lipsticks have never been flattering on me but this one is perfect for my pale skin! There is a good amount of glitter, but the glitter is very fine and it looks gorgeous when the light hits it. The lightest shade, Warm Ice, is a warm frosty nude. Of course, I love this one too. It kind of reminds me of a mix between Tanarama and Gel from MAC. The last shade, Holiday Crush, is my favorite. If not my favorite lipstick I’ve ever owned. It’s a frosty rosey nude that makes your lips pop in a subtle way. If you want a more subdued holiday appropriate shade, you need this one.

The Gold Eye Compact was another item from the collection that I was pretty excited about. I wasn’t sure if this palette would be good quality or not because recently MAC palettes have been disappointing me. But this one is amazing! Each shade in the palette serves a different purpose and each one performs amazing on the eyes.
The main reason I purchased the palette was for the two dazzleshadows. Those two shades blew me away! To make them stick on the eyes you have to use a glitter glue but that doesn’t bother me. Once you apply them with your finger after putting down the glitter glue, they’re incredibly reflective and shiny!
Left to right: Frosted Fizz, Dazzle the Night Away, Spun From Gold, Evening Light, Well Past Midnight, Cinder
This palette is perfect for creating a shimmery smokey eye. In this look I used Evening Light in the crease with Well Past Midnight and Cinder in the outer corner. Lastly on the lid I used Dazzle the Night Away!
