Skincare can be a tricky thing for everyone, especially younger women. There are a ton of highly priced skincare products on the market and I always wondered, do I need that yet? I am in my early twenties and yes, I am already worried about the little wrinkles under my eyes and on my forehead. In the past I have found it hard to find products that actually work for me and keep my skin looking healthy. I have sensitive combination skin, some areas are dry and I get oily in my t-zone. I found that there are certain brands I navigate to and I like to keep my routine as simple as possible. There are so many things that go into choosing skincare and these are the products I use every night to keep my skin looking young and healthy.
I’ll just throw in here that to remove my makeup I actually use baby wipes. They are much cheaper than makeup wipes and actually work! If you haven’t tried, I recommend trying it especially if you have sensitive skin like me! Also, I go back and forth between cleansers but I usually use the Burt’s Bees sensitive facial cleanser.
Origins A Perfect World™ Age-Defense Treatment Lotion with White Tea: My first step in my routine is to prep my face after I have cleansed. I use this treatment lotion to get the remaining dirt and makeup off my face that wasn’t removed when I cleansed. The product is described as “an antiaging lotion with hydrating properties to keep skin comfortable and noticeably smooth”. This treatment lotion removes so much dirt! I was actually surprised when I started using it because of all the dirt and makeup that was left on my skin. This product keeps my pores looking smaller and is a great way to prep your skin for your moisturizer! It is very silky when applied to the face and not drying at all.
Origins A Perfect World™ Antioxidant Moisturizer with White Tea: My next step in my routine is to moisturize. This product is described as “an antiaging moisturizer with the protective powers of white tea”. I really love this product to moisturize at night because it is thick but it doesn’t make my skin oily or break out! It smells amazing too, like citrus! This product absorbs in my skin quickly and doesn’t feel heavy. After I use this product my skin always feels very moisturized and looks vibrant!
Estée Lauder Advanced Time Zone Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Eye Creme: This is a sample size of the product because I received this as a sample after making a purchase at the Estée Lauder counter. This product is described as “a fast-acting, rich cream to improve visible signs of aging around the delicate eye area”. I love this eye cream because it actually does improve the fine lines around my eyes while moisturizing at the same time! Since my under eyes aren’t dry, this provides just enough moisture while also blurring fine lines.
Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub: This product is so simple but it is one of my favorites! The Lush lip scrubs are so effective and get all the dead skin off of my lips! Lush says to use the product when “your lips feel like they need refreshing, or before applying lipstick for smooth application”. I love using this product before I moisturize my lips for the night. I use this product every other night and it keeps my lip so smooth and polished! Also, this flavor actually tastes like popcorn. This product is primarily sugar, jojoba oil, sea salt and coconut oil so it is okay if it gets in your mouth.
Fresh Sugar Nourishing Lip Balm Advanced Therapy: This is a baby size of the product because I got it as a sample from Sephora! This “sample” has lasted me months so far so I can’t imagine how long the full size would last! This product is described as “an ultra-nourishing formula housed in a sleek pot that smoothes and softens lips while delivering a soft sheen and subtle sugar mint flavor”. This lip balm is very thick and has a sweet minty smell. I love it because once you apply it, it stays there until it is all sunken into your lips. I don’t have to re-apply with this product and in the morning I wake up with moisturized lips!
Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion: This is the newest step in my routine but it is so crucial to me right now! Lately my hands have been so dry that they actually started cracking and bleeding! It was extremely painful so I went to the drugstore to find a good lotion I could use at night and throughout the day. This is not a heavy lotion but it does the job! When I apply it to my hands I get a cooling feeling and it gives my dry hands so much relief!
