I got in a rut with drugstore makeup for a while. None of it really excited me so I hadn’t bought anything from the drugstore in a long time. A few days ago I was in my local CVS and I decided to take a peek to see if there were any new releases in the beauty isle. I came across the Rimmel section and started looking through the lipsticks out of curiosity. I had only ever tried one Rimmel lipstick and I ended up not being impressed, which led to me not trying any more. I recently saw one of my favorite beauty bloggers raving about this Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in First Class Nude so when I saw that it was in stock I got really excited!
I decided to purchase it because 1) the shade is beautiful and 2) the formula said it was supposed to be moisturizing (great for winter). Now, this may not seem like such a big deal for some people, but I get really excited when I find a good drugstore lipstick. Some formulas tend to be drying or smell awful and this is neither of those! It does have a scent but it is more of a perfume scent, so it isn’t bad. The formula is really moisturizing and smooth. This is great for this time of year because my lips tend to get super dry! The pigmentation is amazing and it provides great color payoff with just one swipe. As you can see with the swatch above, the lipstick has a glossy finish and it’s beautiful! I can see using this on a day when you don’t feel like putting on too much makeup but you still want to add some color. This is a great every day shade that would suit many different skin tones!
What’s your favorite drugstore lippie?!
