Get dolled up and ready for brunch with this new palette from Lorac! This palette is full of swoon worthy pastels that have me dreaming of mimosas and pancakes!
Oh my gosh. I went back and forth so many times about wether or not I should purchase this palette. I have been loving pops of color on my eyes which is extremely unusual for me. I’m a neutrals girl. I think that everyone has a “style” with makeup just as they do clothing or anything for that matter. This palette is totally not my style but the colors are seriously beautiful so I decided I needed it in my collection. I purchased mine on ulta.com and it was $44!
When I first got this in the mail I was like eh… not so sure. The colors looked beautiful but the pigment seemed to be lacking. Yes the formula is typical Lorac quality which is buttery and creamy but I was disappointed with the color payoff. I swatched them on my hand and I just wasn’t impressed. They seemed very sheer and I had to build up the color A LOT to get a decent swatch. After that I decided that I would more than likely end up returning it. I decided to test them out on my eyes anyways because I wasn’t ready to give up!
My mind completely switched gears after I applied these shades to my eyes. I primed with my usual MAC Painterly Paint Pot and went in with the matte shades to build up my crease. I then popped one of the shimmers on my eyes and I was like ohhhhh okay. Mind changed. These shadows are amazing! They are super creamy and when you apply them to the lid they blend out so easily. It’s interesting because I still stand by the fact that there doesn’t seem to be too much pigment in these shadows when you swatch them. But once you actually apply them to the eyes you have a beautiful wash of pastel goodness! They are a little less pigmented than your typical eyeshadow, but I have a feeling Lorac did that on purpose with this palette. These are pastel shades yet they are so wearable because they aren’t overly pigmented!
To get the swatches above I really had to build up the product. When you first go in and play with these shadows they will seem sheer and poor quality. But after playing with several of these shades on my eyes I began to see all of the potential this palette has! You can create so many looks with this that are going to look bomb in the spring/summer.
The mattes in here are very creamy and blend out beautifully. I also find that the shades work really well together. I took Hot Sauce, Bloody Mary, Sunday Funday and Mimosa to create a beautiful coral/peachy matte eye look. The shimmers are also beautiful. They are very soft and buttery so they work nicely on top of the mattes! I took the shade Gluten Free with a wet MAC 242 and it was beautiful all over the lid. You could also grab a few deeper eyeshadows from another palette and mix them with some shades in this palette to create a more neutral spring/summer look.
This is the perfect palette for the upcoming seasons! I can’t get over how beautiful the packaging is and the adorable shade names. If you are a lover of pastel or pale shades you would love this!
Okay now I’m craving brunch food!
Will you be picking this up??
