I recently rediscovered an oldie but a goodie, MAC Cream Color base!
MAC Never Disappoints
When I first got into makeup, MAC was my #1 favorite brand. It was basically all the rage and I wanted every single product they made! Not that it isn’t anymore, MAC will always be a classic brand. But with all the new brands that have been introduced, I began using and testing out other products. I recently “rediscovered” the creamy goodness of the Cream Color Bases while looking through my collection and they have made their way into my everyday routine!
MAC Cream Color bases are in the permanent line and retail for $22. They come in an array of shades that will compliment any skin tone. These are cream products that can be used a number of ways. They have sheer to medium color payoff and they glide on the skin like butter. MAC nailed it on the head with this cream formula! Sometimes cream products can tend to be sticky or chunky but these are just perfection. They are so incredibly creamy and blend-able. These are multi-use products that can be used on the cheekbones, eyes, or anywhere you want a glow!
For the glow-getter
The two shades I have are Luna and Pearl! Luna is a bright white with shimmer and Pearl is a pale gold with icy shimmer! I have used these as an inner corner highlight, eyeshadow base, highlight, highlight base and all around my face for a soft candlelit glow. When worn alone these are so subtle that you could even use them on the tip of your nose or cupids bow! My faaaaavorite way to use these is as a base for my highlighter. I know highlighting is a huge trend right now and I’ve tried everything I can to get my highlight to beam because I’m basically highlight obsessed. This is by far my favorite product to “prime” my highlight to get that beaming glow!
What I do with these…
I place these where I would normally place my highlight on my cheekbones and I use my finger to apply them! I find that using my finger gives the best color payoff and I also use my finger to blend them out! After these are applied and blended I will apply my highlight as I normally would! This makes any highlighter BEAM. I get such a gorgeous glow when I use this method! It makes my highlight really pop and shine so much brighter.
If you want more of a natural or glowy highlight that looks more subtle, wearing these alone is also gorgeous! Since they are creams they give the skin such a natural radiance that makes your skin look like it’s glowing from within. I will use these products alone if I’m going for a more natural look! These also sit beautifully on top of powder which makes them that much more versatile. MAC has other shades too that can be used for blushes or even bronzers. What you can do with these really depends on the shade that you choose!
Have you tried the Cream Color Bases?!
