Cover Fx added a holographic shade to their Custom Enhancer Drops line and this new shade is totally swoon worthy.
Last year Cover Fx blew every highlighter junkie away with their Custom Enhancer Drops. They recently brought out three new shades for spring and of course I had to pick up the holographic one! Halo is a holographic, multi-dimensional shade that comes off blue with purple undertones. If you’re looking for a more subtle, holographic glow this may be for you!
When I first swatched Halo on my hand I was like YES! Totally for me. This shade is unlike any holographic shade that I’ve seen and it has the most gorgeous glow. The drops are pigmented and have amazing color payoff. But right away I noticed that the formula of this specific shade seemed to be different than the original shades. This one seems to be more oily and runny which I don’t particularly care for. I had a little trouble working with this but after a few attempts I found a method that worked!
How it works
I tried blending it in with my finger over my foundation and that broke up all of the makeup I had applied. I also tried mixing it into my foundation but it felt very oily so in my opinion it doesn’t work well for an all over glow. Luckily I found a way that actually gave a flawless application! After I was completely done with my makeup I took my Morphe duo-fibre brush and blended it on the tops of my cheekbones. Since the brush hairs are so fine and soft it didn’t break up my makeup like using my finger did! It gave a more subdued holographic glow that wore pretty well throughout the day!
In my opinion if you’re looking for a product to add some glow to your foundation or moisturizer, pick a different shade from their original line and pass on this one! If you want to use this to add a holographic glow to specific spots on your face this could work! Just keep in mind that when I said this formula was pretty oily I wasn’t kidding! If you tend to steer away from oily formulas this may not be for you. I’m a little disappointed because I prefer the formula of their original shades! But if you’re willing to work with it and like me, you adore this shade, try it out!
What do you think of Halo?!
